Zaanse Schans
The Zaanse Schans is an Open Air Museum with its typical wooden houses and windmills still in operation. The Zaanse Schans is a small community of 40 houses just to the north of Amsterdam on the banks of the river Zaan.

Cheese market
Alkmaar, where there is a famous cheese market at Waagplein, open every Friday from mid-April to mid-September, is a popular day trip. The train ride from Amsterdam to Alkmaar takes 35 minutes.
Beach in Zandvoort and Bloemendaal
Whether by train, bus or ferry, it's not far from Amsterdam to the beach. Visit popular hotspots Zandvoort and Bloemendaal aan Zee for a Dutch-style beach party. Or venture out and find the tranquil dunes of the quieter stretches of the North Sea coast for a relaxing afternoon away from the city.
Keukenhof
The famous Keukenhof is one of the most impressive and largest gardens in the world with a great variety of flowers in beautiful colours. All types of tulips are on display here in most impressive surroundings.
